You may think woodworkers and mostly men.  Well, you would be wrong. Sun City Woodshop has a thriving group of ladies known as the "Woodchicks".

The Woodchicks are a Special Interest Group (SIG) born out of a desire to foster a more comfortable and encouraging environment for the growing number of female woodworkers in the Guild.  Today, women make up a significant 25% of the Guild's membership.

 

The Woodchicks SIG was formed to provide a dedicated space for women to learn, collaborate, and share their passion for woodworking. This initiative has been instrumental in empowering more women to confidently step into the world of lathes, table saws, and sanders.

The group is a significant contributor to the Guild's annual sale, crafting a wide variety of items that showcase their skill and creativity. ​​
