Booking a class is slow

As a new SCHHWWMMG member, I enjoy the new 'Book a class' compared to the Eventbright method. While trying to navigate and use the Book a class, the end user needs to drill in, then back out, of each one to see which class is open, how many seats if any are available, etc. It's slow and not so friendly.

On the main page is a link to download a spreadsheet of all classes that currently have members registers, the date/time registered, etc.

What I'd like to suggest, is adding another link on the home page, or elsewhere, that when clicked will show you the specific classes that are currently open for registration, along with the number of seats remaining, and the date that registration closes.

This would allow all members to very quickly find which, if any, of the classes on their list of classes to take are…

Mitch, thanks for your comment and for taking the time to enter it. Regarding being able to only only view classes that are available to be booked, the system is setup so that students can see far into the future regarding classes coming available. The way this software package is setup would require admins to individually turn each and every session on/off from viewing by the end user, and given the number of classes and the changing environment, it could be easily missed - i.e. no automation available to do this.

Bookings open up 45 days in advance of the class, so if you see a class you would like to attend, you can set a reminder for yourself to go online when the time comes.

Classes listings currently show how many seats are left in a class.

New Facility Classroom Video

I recently took the Lightburn 811 class in the existing Resource Room. The class relied heavily on demonstration on the computer. This at times was hard to see. My suggestion is to incorporate much larger displays (85 inch or greater) into the new classrooms to facilitate easier viewing.

Thanks Jeff - I am on the building expansion committee and will address this issue when we develop our classroom requirements.

Plank issue

I may not have gone through this site well, but is there any plans to put the Plank issue's up on the WEB site. I have lost some in the past, and think this would be a good place to have them.

Thanks again for suggesting this. The Planks are now available for review. Follow these menu steps: More...Guild Documents...Plank Issues.

How to make a Suggestion

If you see something that is being done or not done in the shop, please let us know HOW to make something better, just don't say something is not good - tell us WHY it is not good.

If you think a particular solution is in order, TELL us what it is. Don't make the responsible party guess at a way to fix it - you may not end up with the fix you think needs to be done.

SOAPBOX MOMENT:

I don't think we need to say it, but I will ... this is not a place to trash someone or something. Let's be constructive.
