Academic License for Lightburn

As discussed at the last member meeting on 3/5/25, the Tech SIG has obtained an academic license for the Tech SIG which offers members a 75% reduction in cost. A reminder that this is for a single-seat license of LightBurn (Can only be installed on one computer), intended as an extension of the license from the Tech SIG makerspace, to allow members without their own hardware to use the software at home. If a member does have their own laser, you are encouraged to purchase a full license. You must purchase a PRO VERSION of the software to be compatible with the Tech SIG Software controlling the laser.

Here is how it works

  1. Using your internet browser, go to https://lightburnsoftware.com/

  2. If you just want to download a trial version (good for 30 days), click the Download Trial) button. You will be prompted to purchase the software after 30 days (follow the instructions below when you decide to purchase the software.

The SIG has 50 licenses as of 3/12/25, we can get more if needed. Please advise me when you purchase an academic license so I can keep track of the quantity.
