The Sun City Woodworkers Guild Woodturners is a dedicated community of artisans who share a passion for the craft of woodturning — the art of shaping wood while it spins on a lathe. Operating from the well-equipped Sun City woodshop, members of this group specialize in creating beautifully turned bowls, vases, pens, ornaments, and other finely crafted items.

 

Each piece begins as a simple block of wood, transformed through skillful toolwork, creativity, and a deep respect for the natural beauty of the grain. Beyond the finished pieces, the Woodturners Group is a place for learning and collaboration.

 

Experienced turners mentor newcomers, teaching proper techniques, tool sharpening, and safety practices that make the craft both rewarding and safe. Demonstrations and training classes help members continually refine their skills and inspire one another to explore new designs and finishes.​
